After moving to Lyon in 2021 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in event management at the École Internationale Tunon, Cindy quickly set herself a clear goal: to join the GL events Group. Despite several unsuccessful applications, she remained determined. In 2022, she secured a work-study position at the Lyon Convention Centre as a Project Manager - an opportunity she saw as a real achievement after her persistence.
Her journey within the Group then continued with two successive fixed-term contracts. She first worked as a Client Manager (Lead Service), before joining the Market Managers/Business Development team at Lyon events. This department is structured around three main teams : project managers, who oversee each site individually (Eurexpo, La Sucrière, and Matmut Stadium); the Lead Service team, responsible for handling and qualifying incoming requests for these venues; and business developers, whose role is to attract new clients and expand markets across all Lyon sites.
But Cindy had other ambitions in mind : taking part in international projects. After several applications - including for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games - she was selected for the Asian Games 2026. She then joined the international teams as Deputy Project Manager – Overlay. On this project, she works closely with the Organising Committee and Cluster Managers to oversee temporary structures (scaffolding) across more than 56 sites in 7 zones, including several stadiums. She collaborates closely with designers to develop plans and define the quantities required for the successful delivery of the event, with installation set to begin in May 2026. This new chapter represents a unique opportunity for her to gain valuable human and multicultural experience, improve her English, and contribute to the delivery of a major international project.
