Portrait Cindy Peyronel

Cindy PEYRONEL shares her experience!

Arriving in Lyon in 2021 to pursue a Bachelor’s in Event Management at École Internationale Tunon, Cindy very early sets a clear goal: to join the GL events group. Despite several applications that went nowhere, she doesn’t give up. In 2022, she lands an apprenticeship at the Centre des Congrès de Lyon as a project lead, a first step she experiences as a great success thanks to her perseverance.

Her journey continues within the Group with two successive fixed-term contracts. She first held the position of customer coordinator (service lead), then joined the market managers/commercial developers team at Lyon events. This department consists of three major teams: the project managers, who specifically manage each site (Eurexpo, La Sucrière and Matmut Stadium); the service lead, responsible for managing and qualifying incoming requests for those same sites; and the commercial developers, whose mission is to seek new clients and develop new markets across all of the Lyon sites.

But Cindy had other goals in mind: to take part in international projects. After several applications, including the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, she was selected for the 2026 Asian Games. She then joins the international teams as Deputy Project Manager – Overlay. On this project, she works in close coordination with the organizing committee and the Cluster Managers to ensure the management of temporary structures (scaffolding) across more than 56 sites spread across 7 zones, including several stadiums. She also works closely with the designers to draw up the plans and define the quantities needed for the successful implementation of the event, with installation beginning in May 2026. This new chapter represents for her a unique opportunity to gain human and multicultural experience, to improve her English, and to contribute to the organization of a large-scale international project.

“There’s no need to stay in your comfort zone. Even after receiving rejections, you have to keep showing yourself. There’s nothing to lose. The most important thing is to be well supported and to believe in your project.”
