Can you introduce yourself ?
“My name is Manon Bariller. Before joining the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games project, I was Head of International Tenders at GL events Live. In this role, I managed bids for major international events - from analyzing tender documents to coordinating responses - with the goal of securing contracts. At the end of this assignment, I will return to this position, enriched by a highly valuable on-site experience.”
What has been the most memorable or challenging aspect of this project for you ?
“The main challenges were more organizational and contractual than cultural. The project was part of a permanent construction contract framework, which led to certain constraints and tensions with the client, as well as additional day-to-day challenges - particularly heavy administrative processes that made operations more complex. From a human perspective, however, collaboration was quite smooth, especially with the French teams from the Organising Committee (many from Paris 2024) and with my suppliers, both French and Italian.”
A moment you’re particularly proud of ?
“I’m especially proud of having successfully delivered this project in a demanding context, while meeting expectations and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders. One standout moment, however, was the installation of the ceremony cabins at the top of the Verona Arena - an exceptional setting.”
If you had to sum up this experience in three words, which would you choose? What did you take away from it on a personal level ?
“Challenging, enriching, intense.
On a personal level, this experience gave me real insight into what happens after a contract is signed: the on-the-ground reality, the work of project teams, and the collective dynamic. My goal was to return to my role in tenders with new skills and a stronger operational understanding to bring added value to future proposals - and I believe that goal has been achieved.”
